At ICS 2017 we hosted 15 mins expert discussions around bladder and bowel care. We truly had some inspiring days in our ‘speaker’s corner’ in the Wellspect booth!

ACCT (Advancing Continence Care Together) is Wellspect’s forum where science, industry and healthcare professionals together can share, interact and discuss how to best advance continence care from a patient perspective.

Giovanni Mosiello, Consultant Pediatric Urologist, Head of Clinical and Research Unit of Pediatric NeuroUROLOGY, Bambino Gesù Children’s Hospital and Research Institute.

"Bladder and bowel management in children with neurogenic disorder"

Giovanni Mosiello specializes in the management and treatment of continence in the transitional period from childhood through to adulthood. He is particularly interested in promoting a global consensus in the approach of urinary and fecal incontinence management in children and adolescents.

Diane Newman, Adjunct Professor of Urology in Surgery, Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.

"Catheter choice matters"

Diane Newman has been a nurse practitioner specializing in urology for over 30 years. Her current practice is in Penn Urology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia USA. She treats patients with pelvic floor and voiding dysfunction. She has a doctorate in nursing from Thomas Jefferson College of Nursing. She is also an Adjunct Professor of Urology in Surgery. In this role, she conducts research on prevention of lower urinary tract symptoms and urologic catheters and devices.

Valentina Passananti, Research Fellow and Lecturer at the Gastrointestinal Physiology Unit at University College Hospital, London, UK.

"Empowering patients in transanal irrigation"

Valentina Passananti obtained her medical degree from the University of Naples, Italy. She is a specialist in Clinical Medicine and Gastroenterology, and has an active research focus within the field of neurogenic bowel disorders. She has several recent scientific publications investigating bowel management solutions for people with Mutiple Sclerosis or other neurogenic bowel dysfunction who have failed traditional care.
